Here at Monarchist Manifesto we are not all new to the great deeds of the Portuguese Monarchist Movement. The Portuguese Republican establishment has been snubbed many times by Portuguese Monarchists. However there latest feat is by far their greatest. This  time they have embarrassed the Republican establishment at the elections.

According to Paragraph B of Article 288 of the Portuguese constitution there can be no referendum on changing the head of state from an elected leader. This was law was created specifically to stop Monarchists from coming into power. As a way to protest the Portuguese Monarchist Movement declared a boycott on the elections. They far more successful then could have imagined. Nearly 60 % of Portuguese answered to that call and boycotted the elections. Only 40.4 % participated in the elections. This was a huge drop since the last election where 61.53 % of  Portuguese  participated in the elections.

Some Portuguese Monarchists decided play a few practical jokes a the voting booth. Some 191,170 blank votes were cast. Also around 86,545 people submitted invalid votes. On many of these invalid votes there were written Monarchist slogans such as "I want a King !" Such an example can be seen below.

This is without doubt a great victory for the Portuguese Monarchist movement. It shows the Portuguese Republican establishment that their time is coming to an end. It demonstrates that the Monarchist movement is powerful enough in Portugal to have a significant influence on Portuguese politics. This also serves as an inspiration for Monarchists everywhere. Since it shows that we can make a difference in our own countries.  I wish Portuguese Monarchists nothing but the best. I have a feeling that in Portugal the movement has a bright future.

I love Portugal and Lisbon is such a wonderful city. Everywhere one looks in Lisbon there are reminders of Portugal's glorious Royal past! I went to the headquarters of the Royalist organisation in Lisbon, met some Portugese monarchists and bought myself the very beautiful Blue and white flag of the kingdom which has the shield and crown from the Royal Arms on it!
It is good to hear that the monarchists are so active in Portugal. I would have loved to see the blue and white flag flying from the city hall! God bless the Royalist cause in Portugal and may it go from strength to strength!!!!
